Waypoint Water Systems
Better Water Starts Here
Answers to the most common questions about soft water, spot-free rinsing, and premium dockside water treatment.
What does Waypoint Water Systems do?
Waypoint Water Systems provides premium portable water treatment systems for boats, yachts, RVs, and mobile use. Our systems are designed to improve onboard water quality, reduce hard water issues, and help deliver cleaner rinses with less spotting.
What is the difference between a water softener and a filtration system?
A water softener reduces hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium, helping reduce scale buildup, water spots, and harsh-feeling water. A filtration or DI system polishes water further for a cleaner, spot-free final rinse.
Will this make my boat completely spot-free?
Our DI filtration systems are designed for spot-free rinsing when used properly. Performance depends on your incoming water source, flow rate, and filter condition.
Do I need power to run the system?
No. Our portable systems do not require electricity. They connect directly to your water source and operate using normal water pressure.
Can I use this at a marina?
Yes. Our systems are designed for dockside use and connect to standard hose connections.
Can I use this for washing my boat?
Yes. Softer, cleaner water helps reduce spotting, improves rinse quality, and can save time drying.
Can I use it for onboard water?
Yes. Many customers use our softeners to improve water used onboard for showers, sinks, and general freshwater use. These systems are not marketed as drinking-water purification systems.
How often do I need to regenerate the softener?
Regeneration depends on your water hardness and how much water you use. When the softener media becomes exhausted, it can be regenerated using salt.
Is regeneration difficult?
No. The process is simple and can be done with standard salt. We provide clear instructions so you can keep your system performing properly.
How long do the filters last?
Filter life depends on your water quality, TDS level, volume of water used, and how the system is operated. Higher TDS or heavily treated marina water will use filters faster.
Which system is right for me?
If you mainly want softer water onboard and reduced hard-water issues, start with a softener. If you want a true spot-free final rinse, choose one of our filtration systems. For the best overall setup, pair a softener with a filtration system.
Are the systems portable?
Yes. Our systems are designed to be portable, easy to move, and practical for dockside use.
Do you offer dealer or partner programs?
Yes. We offer dealer and partner opportunities for marinas, detailers, service providers, and marine businesses.
